Hi Students! Although Kafka said "There is hope, but not for us"--Yoda said "All is emotion."
The 900 year old warrior (hey he's almost as old as I am!) also said:
"Try not! Do or Do Not." (Now write a paper on that!--Just kidding!) I have a lot more quotes up my sleeve but I will spare you any more (for awhile).
The one thing I want to most impart to you is the importance of reading--any reading. Unhook your ears from ipods, lift your fingers from those cell phones or I-Pads, unplug the television and plug yourself into LIFE! Look around and really pay attention. And while you are at it, read a book. Readers just are happier and more successful people. So read as much as you can.
I teach CP English 11 and am thrilled with my classes this year! We are off to a great start!
I also teach IB/AP English 11 and then the second year IB/AP English 12. This year I have THREE classes of Junior IB English so it will be a busy year (for me)!
Students please go to your class and check on the homework links for details about the first week of class. Also we will be doing SAT Writing preparation (with the essay) for students taking the SAT this October, November, or December (That would be ALL of you). So fasten your seatbelts--it's going to be a bumpy ride (movie quote).
Very Brief Biography: Ms. Mollo received her undergraduate degree from UCLA and her graduate degree (M. A. in English) from California State University, Fullerton. She is a published writer in books, magazines, and academic journals. She also attended a PhD. program in English at Claremont Graduate School--after which she started publishing.
