Freshman Summer Football

To:                   Incoming 9th graders

From:               Richard Salazar, Head Football Coach

Subject:           2018 FOOTBALL SEASON

Nogales Football is preparing to enter the new football season and is excited for our incoming freshman to begin this process with us.

We are extremely pleased with the new look of our Football program. One of the most important aspects of having a successful season in the fall depends on the work that we put in during the summer. We are excited to get started with so many talented athletes that will become freshman. We can’t wait to get started together!

FALL FOOTBALL PRACTICE BEGINS July 30, 2017

Students need to have the following information submitted to the school before they can begin practice.

  1. You must have a physical completed and proof of insurance. If you have any questions regarding a physical the coaching staff can give you more information. Please do not hesitate to ask. In regards to insurance, parent or guardian insurance is sufficient (Blue Cross, Cigna, Kaiser, Medicare, Medical, etc.) You can also purchase insurance through C.I.F which will cover you for the school year. The forms are available through the school.
  2. Dress: You may wear shorts/sweats and a T-shirt or you can get official Nogales football gear by purchasing a spirit pack for $100. Football cleats are highly recommended though athletic shoes are ok.
  3. We encourage all student-athletes to purchase their ASB cards before school begins so that they are able to enjoy all events and activities free of charge or at a reduced rate.
  4. A minimum 2.0 grade point average must be maintained to play football (or any sport).
  5. We have a three week dead period from July 6 - July 29 where players will be off of practice. Please attempt to plan any major vacations during this time. Students will always have Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off for any smaller vacations.

Nogales Football is taking the steps necessary to become a successful program that the entire community can be proud of. All of our incoming freshman, YOU are going to be a big part of our success. We look forward to meeting you all and are excited to get to work!
