Hello Parent, Students, and Community Members -
I am excited to begin as the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction. Before joining the Nogales family in 2015, I worked at Victor Valley UHSD and Hacienda-La Puente USD. My professional experience includes English Language Arts, English Learners, Special Education, and Professional Development. I have taught grades 9-12 as an English and ELD teacher, as well as working at the district level in the English Learner Programs and Curriculum office.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree and teaching credential from California State University of Long Beach, Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from California Polytechnic University of Pomona, and Doctorate degree in Teacher Education in Multicultural Settings from University of Southern California.
As the only child from a working-class immigrant family, I have realized the power of knowledge and social capital. Education has allowed me to give back to my family, as well as serve my community. My goal is to increase equity and access for culturally and linguistically diverse learners. I believe all students can succeed and it is my job to provide them with variety of experiences to build future leaders of our society.
Please feel free to visit me or email me with questions. I look forward to serving students and this community.
