Hello Nogales 9th graders,
What should you focus on this year?
- Come to School Daily
- Check Aeries- Homelink
- Know the Magic Numbers-You need 225 credits to graduate----F’s give you 0 Credits, The January of your Freshman year- you should have at least 30 credits. You should finish 9th grade with 60 credits.
- Where to get help- Tutoring at School- Persistence
- CAR Hours- Don’t Wait! Earn at least 15 Volunteer Hours this year
- Socializing for Success- Clubs, Sports and More- Join a sport or club
Graduation Requirements
225 Credits (a minimum of the following)
40 credits of English
30 credits of Social Science (World History, U.S. History, Government, and Economics)
20 credits of Science (Earth Science and Biology)
20 credits of Mathematics (10 credits must be in Algebra I)
20 credits Career Pathway (elective credits)
20 credits of Physical Education (10 credits must be attempted in 9th grade)
10 credits of Foreign Language or Fine Arts
5 credits of Health
60 credits of Electives
Technology Proficiency Requirement:
Accomplished through a test, course, or embedded projects in core classes.
Completion of Career Pathway Requirement (20 elective credits)
Community Activity Requirement (CAR) Hours:
30-hours should be completed by the end of the 10th grade year
Career Certification Program
The Rowland Unified School District Career Certification Program provides students the opportunity to earn a Certificate of Completion in a career pathway in addition to earning their high school diploma at graduation. The career pathways are:
- Art and Communications
- Business
- Health and Medical Services
- Family and Consumer Sciences
- Public and Human Services
- Technology
