Principal’s Update

Hello Nogales Families, here are some updates for this week.

Safety: We are glad to report that there has still not been a single COVID-19 case transmitted at Nogales High School. We appreciate everything you do to ensure students stay home when they feel sick or experience symptoms. Students have been very good about wearing their masks on campus. I appreciate everyone doing their part to prevent the spread of the disease and keep our students healthy at school.

Academics: We have just four and a half weeks untils Finals. Please check Aeries, work with your student, and communicate with teachers to ensure all students finish strong.

Finals: Will be December 15, 2021 (periods 0, 1, 3, 5) and December 16, 2021 (periods 0, 2, 4, 6)

Vaccine clinics are available for children ages 5 - 11 and for booster shots for those 12 and older. The clinic will be at Nogales High School on November 13, 2021 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm for a first dose, and the second to follow in three weeks. Pre-register at www.myturn.ca.gov.

Quarantine after Travel: As we approach the holidays, I thought I would share a reminder of quarantine requirements after travelling. If a student travels out of California, if fully vaccinated, they do not need to quarantine. If not fully vaccinated, they must quarantine for 10 days upon return to California. Please be mindful of these requirements when making plans for the holidays.

Stadium Update: As you may know, Nogales’ turf received an amazing upgrade over the summer. At this time, the track is undergoing resurfacing to ensure that our facilities are the highest quality for our athletes. Until the track is complete, our home soccer games will be played at other schools. We look forward to reopening our stadium with a beautiful new track.

Please do all you can to ensure students keep on track of their grades and their learning. No one will regret the effort when final grades reflect their hard work. As you know, some students need parents to help motivate and keep them making good choices. Don’t give up and keep focused. Go Nobles!

Sincerely,

Andrea Brumbaugh, Ed.D.
