To be able to model problem situations with functions. To read, analyze, and solve challenging problems. To work and communicate effectively in groups. To prepare for various state standardized tests. To write well-constructed paragraphs.
Materials Needed:
1. 4 AA batteries OR 4 AAA (available at CVS) 2. 3 ringed Binder (preferred) 3. A TI-83+ or TI-84 graphing calculator (Staples has these) 4. Textbook 5. Internet Access Grading Policy: Grades will be determined on a point system. At the end of each grading period, the total number of points you earned will be compared with the total number of points that were possible and a letter grade will be determined. Below is a rough approximation:
Grades Grading Scales
Tests/Quiz 70% Homework 10% Projects 10% Classwork 10%
A 90 – 100 B 80 – 89.99 C 70 – 79.99 D 60 – 69.99 F below 60
Make-up Work: Homework due dates are extended by one day for every day of excused absence. Make-up exams are discouraged as we will go over the test the following day. In most cases students missing a test will receive their average test grade for that missed test. For additional missed tests, the percentage grade on the final examination will be substituted for each test grade. Cheating will not be tolerated and will result in a zero grade for the assignment. Tardy students will miss sponge activity points. Grades will be updated by ID.
