I remember when a student John Acevedo decided to run for Homecoming Queen. He was a guy so the school wasn't sure how to handle it. I don't think they thought he would win. So they let him run. Well he received so many votes they decided to call him the Homecoming King, and the runner up was called the Homecoming Queen. John actually had the most votes.That October 1977 was the first crowing of a Homecoming King at Nogales and a new tradition was born.
