Nogales High School Fine Arts & Aquatics Center Opens With A Splash!

The grand opening of the Nogales High School Aquatics Center made a splash on Friday, August 21, 2026.The new energy-efficient aquatics center features a 14-lane pool to host water polo matches and swimming competitions, physical education classes and community swim classes. New features include larger locker rooms with showers for boys and girls, classrooms, coaching offices, and a grandstand for spectators.

The community celebration also offered tours of the adjoining Fine Arts Center, with larger Band and Choir rooms, music storage and rehearsal spaces. A brand-new feature is a second floor Nobles Pride Room, a stunning space that overlooks the playfields and central quad that is used for dance, aerobics, and school/community meetings. The $36 million project was funded by Measure R, approved by two-thirds of voters in 2012.

“All of us are grateful for the community, which stepped up its commitment to education by approving the bond measures that provided the financial resources needed for this and many other school improvement projects,” said Rowland Unified School District Superintendent Alex Flores. “We truly want to thank everyone for their continued support for the district, and more importantly, our students.”
