INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, a prerequisite for other business courses, meets the graduation requirement for technology proficiency and is the first required course in the Business Certificate program. In this class you will learn to operate a computer and to keyboard using the touch method—you will not need to look at your fingers as you key letters and numbers. You will use the Microsoft Office Suite in Word, Excel and PowerPoint in producing business documents. You will learn technological skills that are vital in high school, college and the world of work.
This is a computer lab class and in general there is no homework. However, from time-to-time students are assigned work that needs to be completed at home. As a lab class, students are given time in class to complete their assignments. Additional time is available for students at lunch. As a reminder, students need to clear all absences prior to completing missed classwork, quizzes or tests.
