AP/IB HL Spanish Literature course is intended to be comparable to a third-year college survey course of Spanish literature covering selected works from the literature of Spain and Hispanic America. It is based on a required reading list. The works on the list are of literary significance and represent various historical periods, literary movements, genres, geographic areas, and population groups within the Spanish-speaking world. The objective of the course is to help you interpret and analyze literature in Spanish. The objectives of this course are to not only prepare the students to take the AP Spanish Literature Exam but to also foster an appreciation of the Spanish Language and of Hispanic literatures and culture and to teach students the techniques of literary analysis.
