Curriculum, 20th Century World History
Twentieth Century is the second year of IB HL History, the first year being the AP US History course you are completing now and listed under the IB heading of “History of the Americas.” The two main purposes of 20th Century are to; give you a college survey level understanding of the history of the 20th century from an international point of view, and, of course, get you ready to pass the requirements set out by the International Baccalaureate Organization. These will consist of an “External Assessment” (exam) to be taken in May, and an “Internal Assessment”, which is a research paper between 1,500 and 2,000 words and will be due in February.
