COURSE DESCRIPTION
An introductory course in TV/Video broadcast production using Panasonic SDR H-18 HD 720p student camcorders checked out through the library and Sony HVR A-1U HD 1080i studio camcorders, Holoset-holographic/chroma key system, Videonics MXPro DV mixer, Yamaha EX7 midi key board, Roland 1880 digital audio mixer, Macintosh G-5 computers and Final Cut Pro Studio 2.
Students will choose one of two pathways: Broadcast; which is working with equipment and doing live recordings or Production; working with computers. Both will be creating movies.
This course prepares students for jobs as well as entrepreneurial opportunities in the digital video Industry. All students will have 180 hours in the lab environment but are also are required to work on Digital video assignments outside of class time. CC hours are given as students volunteer for Nogales/R.U.S.D./R.O.P. projects.
