Ms. Garcia’s Discipline Policy
To teach effectively and to give each student the opportunity to learn, all students are expected to behave in the following manner during class:
CLASS EXPECTATIONS:
1. Be Prompt
• Be in class and in your seat ready to work when the bell rings.
• Assignments should be done and turned in on time.
• Class reading should be done before the discussion of the literature.
2. Be Prepared
• Bring all necessary materials to class.
• Be prepared to participate in classroom activities and discussions.
3. Be Polite
• One person speaks at a time, do not call out or interrupt the class.
• Be respectful of other teachers, students, guest and property.
• Use appropriate language in the classroom.
• No derogatory speech about a person or group of persons will be tolerated.
• Stay in your seat during class.
4. Be Responsible
• If student is absent, check the assignment board or online to see what you missed.
• Tests need to be made up within a week.
• For extended absences, make arrangements with the teacher for make-up work.
• If you drop it, pick it up. If you use something, put it back.
• No food or drink allowed in the classroom.
At any time I may contact guardian/parent regarding your school performance or behavior (good and bad).
REWARDS:
o A good grade in class.
o A note or phone call to parents.
o Class reward tickets.
o Extra credit
Failure to follow class guidelines will result in a consequences based on the severity of the behavior. The following consequences may not happen in order.
CONSEQUENCES:
• Warning (verbal or non-verbal)
• Parent Contact
• Student seat changed
• Teacher detention
• School detention
• Student-Teacher conference
• Student-Parent-Teacher Conference
• Suspension
Tardy Policy
1-3 = Call Parent
5 or more Tardies = Saturday School
10 = Meeting with Vice Principal
