1. Read "Juveniles Don't Deserve Life Sentences" one time all the way through.

2. On the second read, complete the following:

- In the left margin, label the following: the introduction, the issue/problem the author is writing about, the author's main argument, examples, and conclusion to the issue.

-In the right hand margin, write your reactions to what the author is saying.  Ask questions, express surprise, disagree, agree, note any point of confusion.  You need to have at least one written reaction for each paragraph.

3. On a separate sheet of paper, write a response to the article and compare/contrast the information to the previous articles.

 

If you are absent, this needs to be completed at home before returning to school tomorrow.  Any activity and assignment you missed needs to be completed before you come to school.  For each day you miss, you will be responsible for printing your own articles and handouts and coming to class prepared the next day.  There is no excuse for not being prepared.  You will be held accountable and graded the same as everyone who was in class.
