Students study the major turning points in American history during the 20th Century.They will review the nation's founding and the impact of the Enlightment on the development of the U.S. Constitution. They will study the industrialization, urbanization, and immigration patterns in our country, including the movement toward equal rights for racial minorities and women. Students will study the beginnings, the early stages, contributions, controversal actions, and results of the role of the United States as a world power.
 
 
 
In Special Education, we teach each subject utilizing both a comprehensive education text and supplemental special education materials, to ensure student understanding of California Content Standards. A variety of instructional strategies are used including: an emphasis on written expression, critical thinking, cooperative learning groups, and the use of technology.
