Important Dates & Deadlines
August 2022:
- 8/1 - University of California Fall 2023 application (UC Apply) is now open. You may now create your profile and add UC schools to your list. You can apply to up to 4 UC's with a fee waiver. You can see if you automatically qualify for a fee waiver within the application. Submission period is Oct.1 - Nov. 30, 2021. Begin working on your Personal Insight Questions. Join the email list of UC schools you plan to apply to. Research majors at desired UC's to check if they require supplemental admission requirement's ( ex. Nursing, Engineering, Visual/ Performing Arts majors, STEM majors).
- 8/1 - The Common App (private colleges) is now available. You may now create your profile and add colleges to your list. Early Decision deadline: November 1, 2022. Regular Decision deadline: January 1, 2023. Check individual college for specific deadlines. *Make sure a counselor reviews your application before submission.
- 8/6 - Deadline to register for the September 11, 2021 ACT test. Ask Mrs. Moreno for a fee waiver.
- 8/17 - Deadline to register for the August 28, 2021 SAT test. Ask Ms. Moreno for a digital fee waiver.
- 8/20 - Late registration deadline to register for September 11 ACT test.

October 2022:
- 10/1 - Free Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA) opens up. This free online application for free federal financial aid for college is for U.S. citizens, Legal Permanent U.S. Residents or Eligible Non-Citizens. Most all UC's, CSU's, universities, trade schools, and community colleges within the U.S. require this application. The state deadline to submit the application is March 2, 2023.
- 10/1 - California Dream Act Application (CADA) opens up. This free online application for free state financial aid for college is for undocumented or non-resident students who meet the non-resident requirements for AB 540. Most U.C.'s, CSU's, universities, trade schools, and community colleges in California require this application. The state deadline to submit this application is March 2, 2023.
- 10/1 - The University of California (UC Apply) application opens for submission. Submission period Oct. 1-Nov. 30, 2022. Make sure a counselor checks your application before submission. Once you submit you will not be able to make changes.
- 10/1 - CSS profile financial aid for college applications are now open. This application collects information used by almost 400 private colleges & universities to award financial aid from sources outside the federal government. Not all colleges require the CSS profile. The cost of the CSS is $25 for the first college. Each additional college is $16. You can qualify for a fee waiver if you meet the requirements.
- 10/1 - The California State University Fall 2023 application (Cal State Apply) is now open. You can apply to as many Cal States using one application. You can apply for free to 4 Cal State's if you qualify for a fee waiver. You can see if you automatically qualify for a fee waiver within the application. The deadline to submit the CSU application is Nov. 30, 2022. *Please make sure your counselor reviews your application; once you submit, you cannot make corrections. Also, The Equal Opportunity Program (EOP) application is embedded in the Cal State Apply application. Every Cal State EOP has a different application deadline in January 2023. Make sure you check your CSU EOP app deadline.

- 11/30 - Deadline to submit CSU and UC college applications.

- 3/02 - State deadline to submit FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application.
May 2022:
- 5/01 - National Decision Day: National deadline to accept admission to CSU, UC and several Private Colleges (Some colleges may have their own deadline). You will need to submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) enrollment fee. Most CSU's and UC's are deferring the SIR fee (they will defer the fee until your financial aid is awarded) if you qualified for their college application fee waiver.

Campuses may offer a range of virtual opportunities, including college fairs, appointments, admissions sessions, tours, and videos on admission, housing, and/or financial aid and scholarships. Some will be hosted in-person, while others will be offered virtually. Programming for students and families will be available.
